Life After Graduating During the Covid-19 Pandemic

For many of us, 2020 was going to be the year that we shine. The year that was supposed to be a good one. The year we graduated after four years of studying, and finally, be able to put our learning to practice by entering the corporate world. For some, it was supposed to be the year they finally start investing their full’time to their startups and businesses.

However, that all changed as the whole world was shut down due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

No one expected that the world would be at war with a virus that spread without bounds, that killed so many people worldwide. A virus that no country was safe from.

For me, this year was going quite well at the start as I landed an internship, and had the prospect of a reputed company having my career kickstarted before graduating. I had hopes that I would have a good job by the time I graduated without the worry of sending countless resumes, facing a ton of rejection, and having to be unemployed when I graduated.

Unfortunately, my hopes shattered when the virus started spreading across the world; making countries enter lockdown while many businesses struggled to survive in a receding economy. Many people were laid off with the hope to…
